Elle Fanning's Teen Vogue Cover Shoot

Hi, I'm Elle Fanning, and welcome

to my Teen Vogue photo shoot.

(glamorous rock music)

Teen Vogue has always been, like my go-to magazine.

We have a subscription to it and everything.

And I can't believe that I'm on the cover.

Like it's crazy, I've always dreamed of it,

and now I'm 13, so now it's like my first time being

in Teen Vogue, as a teenager (laughs).

(energetic rock music)

I sorta started out doing movies

because I saw my sister being in movies.

And I've always looked up to Dakota,

and see the choices that she's made, and all that.

I would go to stores with her

to pick out the red carpet dresses,

and she, I saw her trying on all the gowns and everything.

That was so fun for me, and now I'm sort of starting

to get to do that as well.

She hates it when I steal her clothes.

Like, that's our number one fight, you know,

if I go in there and sneak and steal a shirt or something.

In my role in We Bought a Zoo, I play Lily,

and she's definitely more funny.

She's probably the funniest character I've ever played.

We Bought a Zoo is based on a true story.

It's about this run-down zoo, this animal park,

so then Matt Damon's character and his two kids come in,

and they try to build up the zoo again,

and I play Scarlett Johansson's cousin,

and I work at the, work at the zoo restaurant, at the zoo.

(cheerful music)

If I had to describe my personal style, I think it would be,

quirky, sort of, like offbeat.

I love the seventies, I'm very into that right now,

sort of the long, flowy dresses, very Virgin Suicides.

Yeah, a lot of babydoll dresses, that sort of thing.

I like to be very girly, with bows and ruffles

on the red carpet, I guess.

I love pastel colors, especially blue.

Me and my sister both, because of our eyes,

look good in blue.

(cheerful music)

The denim jacket, at my school especially,

everyone's wearing it,

and I got this really cool eighties Guess one.

And it, it's pretty cool (laughs).

I love it.
