Jessica Williams Talks Her First Everything

My first reaction to seeing myself on TV was,

holy smokes, my voice sounds like that?

Hey, what's up?

I'm Jessica Williams and these are my firsts.

A breakfast burrito bowl that my boyfriend made.

It had rice, turkey sausage, eggs, and refried beans.

It was incredible.

My first job that I got was at a coffee shop.

I was a barista.

It was called Awakenings.

Sometimes I'm like still splurging.

It'll be like if I'm taking a Lyft and

I know that, like, I can't really afford it.

I'm like, who cares?

Let's splurge, live a little.

Let's take a Lyft anyway.

If I'm gonna be real with everybody here,

since this is Teen Vogue,

and I love ya'll so much.

My first heartbreak was probably when

Justin Timberlake showed up with Britney Spears

in the matching denim outfits on the red carpet.

That was really upsetting to me personally

in the beginning, just because I was like,

that's my bey.

This my boo, we're supposed to wear matching outfits.

First book I ever loved was

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone,

or Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, you know.

My mother's old Camry.

It was like a 1997, like blueberry-ish green Camry.

My first role model, Aaliyah.

My first beauty icon was Aaliyah.

It's the hair, tomboy style, absolutely.

My first favorite food was probably a Big Mac.

My first favorite movie was E.T. Extra-Terrestrial.

My first pet was a dog.

His name was Thunder.

Oh gosh, I think Leonardo DiCaprio,

or Justin Timberlake and NSYNC in the

It's Gonna Be Me video.

I think when I had started doing improv in high school.

I don't think I necessarily knew that

I was gonna make it,

but I just knew the feeling that I had

and I felt like I was flying.

The universe aligned, and this was

what I was supposed to be doing.

You said a million or a billion?

A billion?

Oh, the first thing I would do if I won $1 billion,

I'm gonna buy my parents the house

that they want to live in.

After that, then I'm gonna buy tickets to travel,

for like me and Beh, and I want to go to

almost every amusement park in the world.

The first thing I learned about beauty is that

it really does not matter what other people

think of you.

It's really what you think about yourself.
