Where there is a fruit, there is a fruity viral beauty trend pending. Viral beauty queen Hailey Bieber is one of the key players in the fruit-inspired beauty trends and she has no plans of stopping soon. This summer, she declared it “strawberry girl summer” with her fresh-faced makeup look and her cherry nail manicure. Summer is over, and a new season means a new fruit, of course. For her 2023 holiday glam, Hailey Bieber is looking into the plum for inspiration with a side of sugar to make it even more festive.
Bieber shared her “Sugar Plum Fairy” makeup look in a recent TikTok, explaining the origin of her inspiration beside the famous candy. “When I was 16, I was the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker," she wrote. "This is my 2023 version of that makeup. My go-to vibe for the holiday season!”

In the video, Bieber is sporting a pink and white polka-dotted puffer and shows us play-by-play how to unlock the plum-perfect look. She starts by blending her undereye concealer with Saie's double-ended sculpting brush. Then, she goes in with a round blush brush and the Haus Lab foundation brush, respectively, to apply bronzer and blush. She then turns to her go-to brush, the Hourglass Veil Powder Brush, to help blend everything together and add a smidge of highlighter, focusing on her cheeks and eyelids.
Mid-blend, Bieber adds some shimmery eye product and works it in with her fingers and then adds gloss to her lids to add more shimmer. (It looks like she is using the MAC paint pot in Babe in Charms, though she did not share the name of the product!). After brushing her eyebrows up with what appears to be the Anastasia Beverly Hills Strong Hold Clear Brow Gel, Bieber adds a little shimmer to her nose while smiling to the camera. Then, she uses her long-time favorite Berry Freckled Pen from B&Rudi to add her famous faux freckles.
Of course, no makeup look is complete without lips! Bieber adds lines using a plummy (duh) lipstick and a brownish lip pencil from MAC before smudging them a little with her finger. She locks in her lips with none other than her rhode’s limited edition Jelly Bean flavor for a shimmery glaze of sheer baby pink. Adding a little mascara and a coffee mug in hand, Bieber perfectly rounds off her sugar plum makeup look.
