2023 was definitely the year of no pants, and Hailey Bieber is jumping on the bandwagon before the year ends.

The pantsless trend has been everywhere amongst our fave celebs, including Kendall Jenner, the queen of no pants, who even skipped them for the Met Gala. Now, Jenner's not alone on her quest to ditch the pants, as her good friend Hailey Bieber just gave the short-shorts look a sporty spin for a day out in Los Angeles.

Hailey Bieber was seen out and about in L.A. with her husband Justin wearing a casual no-pants look with a holiday spin. The model and Rhode founder was dressed down for the day in a red crewneck sweatshirt paired with matching mini shorts, over which she wore a long wool coat by The Row — a very Bieber-esque combo for sure.

Bieber paired her comfy 'fit with cozy, thick white socks, Mary Jane flats, a Nike baseball cap, and a Saint Laurent bag. (Justin, for his part, wore a white T-shirt, baggy jeans, and a gray crewneck sweatshirt worn over just one arm.) The whole “mini-shorts + big coat” combo is a little confusing, weather-wise, but then again, the Biebers are in Los Angeles, not somewhere where it actually gets cold.

This outfit formula is one Bieber returns to again and again. It's a little bit “Princess Diana leaving the gym,” what with the shorts and crewneck sweatshirt combo — a look Bieber paid homage to for a Vogue France shoot in 2019. The baseball cap adds a sporty touch, as does her utilitarian bag that could double as a gym bag, but the Mary Janes, gold earrings, and statement coat add a touch of sophistication. Oversize coats are one of Bieber's absolute essentials, whether she's wearing a truly massive Matrix-style leather jacket or a warm, sleek wool overcoat. It is a pretty genius look — and one we'll definitely be wearing during the holiday break.
