Kira Kosarin Joins Us for Round Two of Red Carpet Rewind for the 2016 Oscars
Released on 02/29/2016
(fun music)
Hi, I'm Phillip Picardi from Teen Vogue.
And I'm Kira Kosarin from Nickelodeon's The Thundermans.
And tonight, we're reviewing all of the fashion
from the Oscars red carpet.
Let's get started.
(fun music)
So first up we have Saoirse Ronan
who is wearing an emerald sequined gown
by Calvin Klein Collection.
Which she apparently requested that she wear green
for the Oscars.
She wanted to represent her home country of Ireland
on the Oscars carpet which I think is beautiful.
Yeah and she looked absolutely amazing.
I love especially that she wore her hair
really really carefree and tussled.
Just effortlessly beautiful.
The velvet straps in the back too I think was unexpected.
Speaking of unexpected though,
she wore two different earrings.
[Phillip] Yeah, kind of distracting but in an awesome way.
And those beautiful green eyes are an accessory
in and of themselves so.
Yeah and she's one of the youngest girls
on the red carpet and she's--
How old is she?
She's 22 I believe.
Is she really?
And she's nominated for Best Actress for Brooklyn
so I'm really glad that she kept it cool, represented.
Next up, we have Priyanka Chopra in Zuhair Murad
looking amazing.
Incredible, the all white looks so beautiful
on her skin tone and I'm so impressed
because I feel like it can be really difficult
to wear especially a strapless white gown
without it looking bridal.
I think it's the belt,
the metallic has that practical latch on the front
which I've never seen before.
It offsets that lace flowiness
and it makes it look fashion instead of bridal.
[Phillip] It's such a fresh and fashionable way
to do formal wear.
There is a way to be bright and alive
without having to wear a super bright color.
Case and point.
Exactly.
So Rooney Mara in custom Givenchy looking gorgeous.
I love the lace.
I love the cutout, the kind of diamond cutout
like on the sternum.
[Phillip] The sternum.
[Kira] It is, I've never--
AP Bio over here.
Hello.
And speaking of something new,
Rooney was one of the only actresses
to wear something structured and tailored on the red carpet.
Most of the dresses were ethereal and romantic
and this just felt tough
in a way that was distinctly Rooney Mara.
She's the bad girl on the red carpet and we love that.
(fun music)
Alicia Vikander in custom Louis Vuitton
having a Belle moment on the carpet
which I originally looked at it and I was like, okay,
she kind of looks like Belle, that's cool
but then I realized this was not an accident.
Look at her hair.
The middle part with the half up bun.
That was intentional.
Right, she is literally fashion Belle.
She's fashion Belle.
I don't think it was a coincidence
because she was obviously the favorite
to win Best Supporting Actress
so she won her first Oscar dressed like a Disney princess
so it was the fairy tale evening for Alicia.
So next, let's talk about Daisy Ridley
dazzling in Chanel, what do you think?
Well, Daisy is still a relative newcomer to the red carpet
so I feel like for this Oscars that she's going to,
you would have expected her to do a classic gown.
She could have gotten away with it.
She could have and nobody would have known otherwise
'cause nobody knows her style yet.
Yeah, exactly and instead she wore
something that ended right above the ankles
that felt so easy and so high fashion
which was so different
and we waited for her all night.
But so worth it.
[Phillip] Yeah, Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior.
This is her third time wearing Dior.
She missed last year 'cause she was shooting Joy
which she's nominated for.
Yeah and she was amazing in Joy
and I think this is one of the first times
I've ever seen Jennifer Lawrence in black on the red carpet.
I love her hair.
The platinum blonde totally works.
It feels less of that Hollywood thing
that she's supposed to do and more of the J. Law
that we've kind of come to know and love.
You look great, J. Law. It looks great.
Alright, thanks for hanging out with us, guys.
