If I walked past Shay Mitchell on the street in this new hair color, I honestly wouldn't recognize her. Combined with these eyebrows, I'd definitely have to look twice or maybe even thrice.

The Pretty Little Liars and You star ditched her usual dark brunette hair in favor of a trending “cowboy copper” auburn shade courtesy stylist Dimitris Giannetos. Giannetos showed off the color on Instagram and she truly looks like a different person — in part because of the hair color, of course, but also because she changed up her brows too.

Mitchell's hair is now a warm, rich auburn and copper shade similar to the cowboy copper color that has been all over our TikTok FYPs this season. The dye is actually a super affordable and accessible option, L’Oréal Paris Superior Preference in the shade Light Auburn. Mitchell's hair is still as long and lush as usual, and Giannetos styled it in undone mermaid waves to show off the different facets of the color.

Makeup artist Ash K Holm matched Mitchell's lipstick to her hair color, opting for a rusty red shade, but she also covered up the star's natural brows and drew on a thinner, straight-across set to truly transform Mitchell's look.

This isn't the first time the actor and Beis founder has dipped her toes into the redhead realm. In 2022, she polled her Instagram followers regarding a potential hair color change; they voted red, and she went ahead and did it! At the time, her color was definitely more dark auburn than cowboy copper, but both shades of red look amazing on her. And what better timing to go red than right before the holidays? It's festive without being too over-the-top. Shay Mitchell, if you're reading this, please keep this color around awhile — it's so good!
