Vanessa Hudgens tied the knot with Cole Tucker in Tulum, Mexico on December 2, and Hudgens wore two different dresses for the celebration: a slinky, '90s-inspired slip dress for the ceremony and a bridal take on the sheer trend for the reception.
Hudgens has long been a fan of the sheer look, so it's no surprise that she incorporated elements of it into her wedding day ensembles — most notably her afterparty gown. According to Vogue, Hudgens wanted a dress she could “throw around” for the party, and landed on a strapless Vera Wang gown with a sheer lace corset top and flowing peekaboo skirt. The final dress was actually a custom creation based on a top Hudgens had admired. “I had found this one dress that had the corset bodice part of the dress I ultimately ended up wearing,” she shared. “It was this French lace with really pretty iridescent stones in it—it was super romantic, but the dress puffed out a lot, so I asked if we could change out the bottom into a chiffon and make it super sheer and flirty, and they actually put lace in built-in underwear and made a garter.” She styled the dress with platform shoes from Larroude. “My vision was the perfect dress to dance all night in,” Hudgens said, and she nailed it. For her ceremony dress, Hudgens wanted something “sleek, modern and sexy” that would show off her long veil. She chose a bias cut, cowl neck Vera Wang slip dress and embroidered “Mrs. T December 2nd, 2023” on her veil. According to the actor, the dress she chose was the very first one she tried. “I put it on, and I was like ‘It’s perfect. It’s easy, it’s simple, and it’s chic,” she said. “It was exactly what I wanted, but we obviously had to spruce it up a little and add some extra love to it so that it was special, just for me. I wanted it to look like I was floating and loved the cape and veil combo." So gorgeous.
