Hailee Steinfeld Takes Us to the Young Hollywood Party

I'm Teen Vogue's Style Features Director, Andrew Bevan.

Teen Vogue has a history of breaking young talent

before they were stars.

And at the heart of it, is the Young Hollywood issue.

Tonight is the 11th Annual Young Hollywood Party.

As a Teen Vogue insider for the last six years,

I'm going to take you behind the scenes to meet the stars,

critics and people who make it all happen.

Come along for the ride as we count down

the 24 hours to Young Hollywood.

It's 8:00.

I'm so late for my date with Hailee.

She probably thinks I stood her up.

What have I done?

She must already be in the party.

She is the guest of honor after all.

I'm sure she's on the red carpet getting her picture taken,

or maybe already on the dance floor.

That's what I get for double booking.

Will I ever be able to make it up to her?

Hey, sorry I'm late.

Aw, fancy seeing you here (laughs).

Hi. Hi.

Just catching up on the cover story

that I wrote about you.

Oh, isn't it amazing?

So this is your party.

I know.

Finally.

This is like, what your third or fourth

Teen Vogue Young Hollywood?

My fourth Teen Vogue, but the most special thing is,

is it was my first photo shoot,

and my first red carpet was for that issue.

Oh for, yeah, that's right.

We didn't even know each other then.

We didn't even know each other

and now we're like best friends, it's amazing.

I know.

And I wrote my first cover story on you.

Oh my god, I feel so special.

It hasn't even really hit me yet.

Well it's hit me.

But I read it like four times.

(laughs) You're like, I am so good.

(laughter)

I feel that I'm so close to you and so respect you so much

as a person and a friend

that it was the hardest thing I've ever done at Teen Vogue.

I know, you were texting me and you're like,

I'm so nervous and I don't know what to do.

Yeah but I wanted to do you justice.

So I hoped that I did, but.

No, you did, are you kidding me?

(cameras flashing)

Are you nervous about tonight?

I'm kind of a little nervous.

I'm excited--

You don't have to do anything but like give a speech.

I know, that's my favorite thing about this party

is you just can go and have fun and be yourself.

And you're here.

And then tomorrow you're off working again.

Tomorrow, yeah I'm getting ready,

I leave for a European press tour for Ender's Game.

It never ends. It never ends.

But it's good, I love it.

Well I'm so excited to hang out with you.

Why do you like the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party?

Oh, I like it because the number of amazing people here,

and it's at a fun location.

And this year, you're actually in the magazine

and so is she, in the Young Hollywood issue.

(rock music)

I wanna know what your favorite part of the night was.

My favorite part of the night tonight was definitely

doing the photo booth pictures.

They were so cute.

They were so cute.

[Andrew] Why do you like this party?

It's so fun.

I love this party 'cause it's insane.

[Andrew] What do you love about Teen Vogue?

Everything.

Everything, it's so fun.

How cool is your hair?

My hair is, I have to say, it's pretty cool.

And your earring. It's pretty chic.

What was your favorite part of tonight?

My favorite part of tonight was probably

that I got to see a lot some of my friends who are

in the magazine and who aren't in the magazine.

I just got to mingle and have fun.

(cameras flashing)

We are literally closing down the party.

[Both] We are.

We're actually helping shutting the doors.

Yeah.

We're cleaning up.

[Raini] It was fun.

[Andrew] We brought the house down.

[Raini] Yeah, we literally.

Yeah. But, we did bring it down.

This morning we hung out with Bryanboy at his hotel,

saw Natalia Kills and Wild Belle at sound check.

Before picking up Sarah Hyland

and barely meeting up with Hailee Steinfeld.

This day was nuts.

The party was crazy

and I can't wait to do it again next year.
